I was a couple blocks from my condo when a careless SUV driver took a left turn into the path of my brand new Ducati motorcycle. I nearly maneuvered around the oncoming front bumper, but it caught me in the left leg. As I lay on the road, the parts of my ankle that hadn't turned to dust were sticking through the skin. And it turned out to be the best day of my life. I was hoping I'd pass out to get rid of the pain. However, I was conscious until they pumped me full of ketamine to take my boot off at the hospital.
