Every market has taken a slightly different approach to regulation in the cannabis industry. Each state is a unique market with its regulations creating a different cannabis economy. Oregon is a free market. There has been up until now no license cap and no pause on the distribution of licenses. If you meet the qualifications you receive a license. The cost of a license, the actual fees, are relatively low, $3,000 here, $10,000 there, which put the state and the city together.Portland has an equity program. If you meet certain criteria, the license fees are less. It is, for all intents and purposes, one of the easiest places to get a cannabis business license. There's no qualification that the licensee is from in-state. Put together all of those things together and it truly is one of the easiest places to get a license in cannabis– which I think is good.
